For auction is a rare 1960s Longines ref 7981-1 Big Eye caliber 30CH manual winding chronograph unpolished all original very nice. The first tier of Longines Chronographs (and arguably all chronographs) are 13ZNs. The Big Eye houses a caliber 30CH which is the movement that came after the 13ZN and is also extremely fine and highly regarded. Of all the 30CH the Big Eye sits at the top of the pile in collector estimation. A veritable bargain as compared to a lot of high priced 13ZN pieces it is a special piece in that it is oversized, incredibly sporty with its burgundy colored bezel and has the iconic oversized 30 minutes register (hence the nickname Big Eye). This particular example is as honest and original as they come: unpolished case, all original dial, an overall very good collection worthy piece.

Dial: Matte black with applied tritium baton markers, outer silvered tachymeter chapter, oversized 30 minutes silver counter at 3 oclock and normal sized subsidiary seconds at 9 oclock, red cross-hair, baton hands
Condition: 82% (8.2 of 10): very nice original pre-owned condition, very good case and dial, working correctly
